Licheń
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Licheń in Licheń Stary is the second - after Częstochowa - place of worship in Poland. Over 1,5 million pilgrims visit it yearly. The basilica, which was consecrated and visited by the Pope John Paul II, is the largest basilica in Poland, the seventh in Europe and twelfth in the world. The hosts of the sanctuary are Marian Fathers, whose religious community was established in Poland by the father Stanisław Papczyński three centuries ago.
